Bernhard Lang finds patterns and structures on the surface of the Earth and capture images that show the impact of human activity on the natural environment. He is interested in the duality and balance between beauty and destruction. In 2010, he started his aerial views project, which has received numerous awards, for example from Sony World Photography and International Photography, and was nominated from Prix Pictet. Baltic Ice is a series showing the freezing over of the Baltic Sea, lakes, and rivers in Estonia in 2024.
Bernhard Lang is a German photographer and visual artist. After an apprenticeship at Photostudio Anker in Munich, he worked as a freelance photo-assistant in advertising and fashion. He now freelances for national and international agencies, galleries, and magazines. His work has been published in numerous, prestigious outlets, such as Times Magazine, the Washington Post, The Guardian, National Geographic Magazine, Corriere della Sera, Art Magazine, among others.
